founding Minister

Rev. Kathy Zavada

I am so grateful that this vision for a spiritual community in Ashland is so appreciated and that I have the opportunity to work with these wonderful, dedicated board members supporting this vision and our community.

board president

Amazawa Sha

I feel honored to serve on the Board and grateful to be part of our growing community. Prior to my awakening, I served as a Systems Architect for a large corporation and also held a Certified Public Accountant license for 20 years, helping small companies with financial accounting. After awakening, I have been exploring our beautiful planet by following my curiosity, which ultimately led me here to Ashland.

founding secretary

Peg Turton

It is a great honor to be part of creating this ever-expanding community. I've been a spiritual seeker all my life and believe that all traditions lead to the same creative source. Previously, I served as the Board Secretary and Angel Team Coordinator (volunteers) at Unity at the Lake in South Lake Tahoe. I am blessed to live in Nehalem on the Northern Oregon Coast.

Treasurer

Cathy Marsak

I am honored to serve on the Board as Treasurer, and am committed to the mission and vision of Rev. Kathy and the UCOA Community. I am a retired Executive Coach and former owner of an independent bookstore. I was raised in Christian Science, was later a member of the Church of Religious Science for many years, and have since been a longtime student of Buddhism and Vedanta. I live in Ashland with my husband, Carl, and our Golden Retriever, Sita.

I have never wanted to sit on a board before although asked on several occasions. So, I’m surprised to discover my utter delight at being included in this circle. My early training in the fine arts expanded to include all aspects of my life. I delight in finding beauty in the most unlikely and broken places and sharing my discoveries with others while listening to theirs. Communication and co-creation with nature — the creative life force — is my vision.

director

Robert Auerbach

I recently retired from my 40-year career with the family's business and moved to Jacksonville, Oregon with my wife and dogs. Walking into the doors at Unity Community of Ashland, my wife and I knew immediately that this community was what we had prayed for, and I am honored to participate on the board.
