“I am so very looking forward to sharing with you a talk on a subject so dear to my heart and soul, ‘The Great Mother Goddess’,” shares Rev. Kathy. “In the Rig Veda it says, ‘Truth is One, the sages speak of it by many names.’ In other words, there is a single, ultimate Reality, but it is understood and expressed in many ways. The Great Mother as the ultimate Reality has been worshiped for many, many thousands of years, long before the patriarchal focus of God as Father born out of the monotheistic religions of Judaism, Islam and Christianity.

“In our Interfaith tradition, we explore the great Truth that is One, as it is expressed in myriad forms,” Rev. Kathy continues. “There are many forms, many expressions of the great goddess throughout history from Mesopotamia to Egypt to Greece to India and to contemporary figures like Ammachi. Through our communion with the Great Mother, the Great Goddess, we can open to and also embody those divine qualities. This Divine Feminine presence can be a vehicle for our own direct, divine experience. And so we will explore this in depth this Sunday.”

Rev. Kathy is also excited about the music program!

“I have chosen some very special music including Ave Maria featuring Franz Schubert’s beautiful piano arrangement and featuring Lark and her divine soprano. We’ll sing bhajans including Kali Durge, and we’ll shift our mind to open to God as Mother with She’s Got The Whole World In Her Hands. We’ll chant Mother of All Things and invoke Kali, Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Amma, Mother Mary, and the Universal Mother of all.”
