She is a Shakespearean actress and leads workshops in Living Life as Sacred Theatre and Sacred Studies of the Divine Feminine. Since 1987\, she has also been the principal teaching associate of Dr. Jean Houston. \n\n\n\nWorking with Jean\, Peggy has presented classes\, workshops and trainings throughout the United States\, and in Australia\, New Zealand\, England\, Ireland\, Sweden\, Greece\, Egypt\, The Netherlands\, India\, West Africa\, Indonesia\, Hong Kong\, Taiwan\, Jamaica\, and on behalf of the United Nations Development Programme\, in Albania\, St. Lucia\, Barbados\, Kenya\, and the Philippines. \n\n\n\nIn her book\, To Be and How To Be: Transforming Your Life through Sacred Theatre\, Peggy highlights the “Nine Powers of Sacred Theatre” to probe the sacred theatre of our lives as a spiritual path of transformation. \n\n\n\nSpirituality and Practice summarizes Peggy’s teaching as: \n\n\n\n“The metaphor of life as the stage on which we embody our passion and purpose is a rich one…[and]…The important thing to remember is that each of us is the leading character in our life\, which means we must do our best to be at our best. It is also essential that we develop the story of our life and put it in sync with the unfolding story of Life on Earth. She will also offer a workshop after service. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Jennifer Berezan\n\n\n\nJennifer is a visionary artist\, activist and producer. Her work expands artistic boundaries\, blurring the distinctions between musical styles\, politics\, and spirituality. She is a maestra of collaboration and makes music that changes how we experience ourselves and the world. \n\n\n\nOver the course of ten albums\, her music has been shaped by her lifelong involvement in environmental\, women’s\, and justice movements as well as Buddhist practice. Her approach to music as a transformative experience creates a strong rapport with audiences from small venues to large events throughout the world. \n\n\n\nJennifer teaches at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco in the department of Philosophy and Religion. Her on-going class (since 1997) is entitled “The Healing Ecstasy of Sound” and explores music as a spiritual practice from a wide range of traditional and contemporary perspectives. \n\n\n\nJennifer will perform at Jackson Wellsprings on Saturday\, November 15 @ 7:30pm. Kathy. “In the Rig Veda it says\, ‘Truth is One\, the sages speak of it by many names.’ In other words\, there is a single\, ultimate Reality\, but it is understood and expressed in many ways. The Great Mother as the ultimate Reality has been worshiped for many\, many thousands of years\, long before the patriarchal focus of God as Father born out of the monotheistic religions of Judaism\, Islam and Christianity.“In our Interfaith tradition\, we explore the great Truth that is One\, as it is expressed in myriad forms\,” Rev. Kathy continues. “There are many forms\, many expressions of the great goddess throughout history from Mesopotamia to Egypt to Greece to India and to contemporary figures like Ammachi. Noted author and presidential candidate Marianne Williamson has called the Swami “the Mark Twain of our times\,” and as such Swami has a “one-twack mind”—that’s the laugh twack. And he has one “loco motive”—to keep you laughing till the sacred cows come home. \n\n\n\nNow\, the Swami is not one of those gurus who expects people to accept his teachings without questioning. Lynn Fritz is our guest speaker on June 22. \n\n\n\nRev. Lynn will speak on “The Human Energy Field: Creating Global Healing”. She will discuss the significance of understanding the human energy field\, it’s role in personal well being and it’s power in healing our global community. \n\n\n\nRev. Lynn is an ordained minister with Center for Spiritual Living\, a Karuk Tribal Descendant\, a licensed Marriage and Family therapist\, and a Native American spiritual practitioner. Rev. Lynn and Rev. Kathy have been friends for over 30 years and have co-created many Interfaith services together.  \n\n\n\nIt’s an honor to welcome her back to our Unity Community of Ashland! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGuest Music\n\n\n\nHeather Hutton brings her beautiful voice and multiple instruments to bless our Sunday service. Heather bridges worlds through her powerful voice\, song lyrics\, and holistic teaching methods. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA Humboldt County native\, Heather moved to the Rogue Valley in 2000.
