Kathy shares: \n\n\n\nI am so looking forward to an uplifting service this Sunday with the focus being on Imagination. Einstein said imagination was even more important than knowledge\, that it was essential for us to be curious\, to often wonder what more is possible for us\, in our lives\, and for humanity.I believe each of our lives has a sacred purpose. And we should often ask\, what is the still voice inside asking of me now? What am I here to learn? What am I here to offer? What does my present authentic expression look like? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoseph Campbell describes our life journey as the Hero’s Journey\, the call to adventure\, a grand summons that beckons the hero to leave old concepts and conditioning and journey forth into new ways of being. And\, the hero is usually reluctant to leave what is comfortable and habitual\, often refusing the call or delaying it. We often find change calling\, but it feels like an inconvenient time or just too much effort.But\, once the hero accepts the call\, then he or she receives special aid on the adventure; magical allies who help the hero make important decisions and discover new possibilities in themselves. The skills taught through the nonviolent communication model encourage anger management\, create common ground\, and promote effective listening skills. \n\n\n\nAs a skilled presenter\, trainer\, mediator\, and group facilitator\, Joanne effectively models the skills needed to deal with conflict and to communicate compassionately. Joanne is renowned for her warmth\, empathy\, humor\, and ability to empower those who work with her. Her reputation has been affectionately summarized as “having an ability to tame lions.” \n\n\n\nJoanne is a business communications expert\, a mediator in private practice\, an educator\, and an executive coach. She specializes in working with organizations and individuals where key relationships are in conflict. Alive and engaging\, Joanne offers workplace facilitation that includes trainings\, skill-building classes\, workshops\, crisis mediation and coaching. Her sessions incorporate illustrative stories\, practical skills\, and effective tools that can immediately be put into practice. \n\n\n\nJoanne’s training motivates and empowers both supervisors and employees to express themselves professionally\, eloquently and heart-fully. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGuest Musician\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHeather Hutton will be our guest musician bringing her beautiful voice and multiple instruments to bless our Sunday service. Heather bridges worlds through her powerful voice\, song lyrics\, and holistic teaching methods. \n\n\n\nA Humboldt County native\, Heather moved to the Rogue Valley in 2000. Using intuition\, you can process an entire dream and instantly retrieve the dream wisdom. Once I dreamed of someone being held up at gunpoint. Setting my surprise aside\, my intuitive mind quickly signaled the “hold up” or delay of an impending contract. \n\n\n\nIntuition can illuminate dreams to provide previews of upcoming events. Through such dreams you might discover opportunities for personal advancement\, such as employment\, and ways to preview future partnerships. DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Rev. Kathy Zavada & Rev. Lynn Fritz \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConsider stepping into a bold new way of being of Sacred Service and of learning a powerful transformative way to pray. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe invite you to consider taking the next step by deepening your understanding of a more powerful way to pray and connect with the Creative Power of the Universe\, by becoming a Prayer Chaplain. \n\n\n\nOur Prayer Chaplain Training Program is an intensive retreat over two days on July 26 and 27th. We offer this training both in person and online. \n\n\n\nNo prior experience in prayer or praying is required to serve as a Prayer Chaplain. However\, you must be a formal member of UCOA to attend this training. \n\n\n\nTraining will be held in person at the Havurah\, 185 N. Mountain Ave.\, in Ashland. \n\n\n\nWe welcome a Love offering donation for receiving the training. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo sign-up for the July 26-27 Prayer Chaplain Training\, download\, complete\, and return the application form. Then\, we invite you to share what you have learned by extending it to others in our spiritual community. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat PC’s Do\n\n\n\nPrayer Chaplains are an extension of our ministry team and help us to make a more personal connection with our membership. \n\n\n\nPrayer Chaplains are trained to do three things: \n\n\n\n\nhold spiritual space\n\n\n\nlisten \n\n\n\npray\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat PC’s Do Not Do\n\n\n\nUnlike hospital\, hospice or military chaplains\, Prayer Chaplains are not: \n\n\n\n\nordained;\n\n\n\ntrained to counsel people;\n\n\n\nboard certified by any nationally known organization. \n\n\n\n\nPrayer Chaplains are not trained to go out and “minister” to the larger community\, but are trained as a lay resource to help meet individuals with our community at the point of their need.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n\nPrayer Chaplains are asked: \n\n\n\n\nto be available for monthly one-on-one prayer with congregants;\n\n\n\nto attend periodic Prayer Chaplain meetings;\n\n\n\nto commit to one year of service;\n\n\n\nto attend 14 hours of training.

Kathy leads us in prayer and meditation and gives the talk. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpecial Guest Musician\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are delighted to have the talented Prema Love sharing her wonderful gifts with us. \n\n\n\nPrema is an internationally touring multi-instrumentalist and voice alchemist based in Maui\, Hawaii. She has performed at major festivals and for spiritual teachers Ram Dass\, Amma the hugging Saint\, and three Divine Mother Saints of India. \n\n\n\nShe is inspired by the Divine Mother and here to honor and uplift the Divine Feminine in all. DESCRIPTION:We will take a few minutes during Sunday Service and welcome our New Members with a special ceremony. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRev. Kathy welcome’s UCOA’s first group of new members in February 2024 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRev. Kathy will invite our in-person new members to come up front while those online will be highlighted on the screen. \n\n\n\n\nRev. Kathy will ask new members to affirm a few statements of faith;\n\n\n\nwe will share some lovely words of welcoming to them;\n\n\n\nthey will be offered a small gift from UCOA; and\, then\,\n\n\n\nwe will all sing to them.\n\n\n\n\nNew Members will have taken the New Member Introduction & Orientation class the week prior on Sunday\, June 9.
