Kathy Zavada and Joy Elohim\, Grief Guide & IFS Practitioner\, will lead a Grief Circle after the service this Sunday\, March 29th\, from 12:45-2:15pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you are dealing with grief\, we warmly welcome you to join us. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhether you are grieving a loved one\, a personal loss\, or societal or ecological collapse\, let’s gather to find comfort\, meaning and strength in the midst of loss. During our time together we will contemplate the quotes and questions below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow can you experience grief and grieving as a “new and creative act”? \n\n\n\n“No matter how passive it sounds or feels\, no matter how dense the fog of grief\, living through each moment in grief is a new and creative act. It is an act of rebuilding a self and a world that has been shattered.” — Litsa Williams \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhere do you find courage? \n\n\n\n“If we are to survive\, we must have the courage to let go of the world as we know it.” — Joanna Macy  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCan you be open to love in the midst of collapse? \n\n\n\n“Grief is the persistence of love in a world that is falling apart.” — Francis Weller \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSafe & Supportive\n\n\n\nUCOA’s Grief Circle led by Joy Elohim and Rev. Kathy Zavada is a safe and supportive environment to help those who are going through a process of grieving. Grief can feel daunting\, especially in the first year of bereavement. \n\n\n\nAll are welcome. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat to Expect\n\n\n\n\nMeditation\, chanting\, and sharing from the heart.\n \n\n\n\nWe will share what does and doesn’t work for us in our grieving process.\n \n\n\n\nWe will provide a gently guided circle and create a space for each person to share their grief process and favorite memories of the person who died.\n \n\n\n\nWe will discuss what our relationship with the person who is no longer in the physical realm feels like.\n \n\n\n\nWe will honor all emotions and create a nurturing circle to understand and explore our grieving process.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSuggested Love Offerings\n\n\n\nAttendance is free. \n\n\n\nIf you are so moved\, love offerings are warmly appreciated.
